Beginners will gain confidence with our experienced driving instructor

How do beginners choose the right driving school or driving instructor?

Driving lessons are at the heart of our business. We are very conscious, that if you are paying someone to give you driving lessons in Brighton, they must be an approved driving instructor (ADI) or a trainee driving instructor.

If you are a beginner to driving lessons, it is important to learn how to drive safely from the start. Bad habits are hard to break. Our Grade A, Approved Driving Instructor will teach you just what you need to be a safe and confident driver, and to pass your test in the minimum amount of time. Choosing an experienced driving instructor, with a good reputation and a car that you feel comfortable in, will put you at your ease from the moment you sit in the driver’s seat.

Every five years our instructor goes through a rigorous check to ensure he remains a Grade A instructor. Guy’s last check was in August 2021, when he once again achieved a Grade A!

About your first driving lesson

Everyone feels nervous on their first driving lesson but there is no need to worry. At Vogue, we understand beginners, and you won’t be put in any stressful situations that you are not ready to cope with.

We compile a structured lesson plan to enable you to pass your test in the shortest possible time, teaching you driving skills that will last you a lifetime and make learning enjoyable and fun.

Over 25 years of teaching learners how to drive

Our Driving Instructor has been teaching pupils for over 25 years and has a complete understanding of what learner drivers need to learn to pass their tests, whatever their previous experience or standards.

All our driving lessons in Brighton and Hove are 1-1, there is no car sharing, and we don’t have other pupils in the back of the car. We ensure that during your driving lesson you can concentrate fully on learning the skills of the road and gaining driving experience.

We can pick up from your home, your place of work or college if they are within our catchment area. Our hours are very flexible to accommodate people that work or who have limited time to learn to drive. Wherever we pick you up, we will drop off as times for lessons are arranged from one pick-up point to another. It is easy to lose 15 minutes with distance and traffic, and this could make us late for other pupils’ lessons.

How many hours of professional instruction is needed before I can take a driving test?

This is an impossible question for a Driving School to answer as it varies with each individual. Everyone is different when it comes to learning to drive

The Driver and Vehicles Standards Agency (DVSA), which conducts the UK driving test, recommends an average of 45 hours with around 22 hours of private practice. Please consider this before booking your test and ask our instructor, as he will know better than anyone if you are ready for your test.

We do appreciate that tests are being booked very far in advance but we do not advise booking a test until your instructor considers you are nearly ready. Tests are carried out at the Worthing Test Centre, Goring-by-Sea, BN12 6EA. This is the closed venue to Brighton & Hove. Please discuss availability with the instructor.
